The Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists team traveled to Seattle, WA, over the Memorial Day Weekend to attend the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry annual session. We had a really fantastic time in the Emerald City expanding our knowledge base in the world class CE courses and had lots of fun team building events. We had a blast riding the Ducks of Seattle seeing the sights, we even made it to the top of the Space Needle.
We advocate a lifetime of learning and this year’s courses did not disappoint. Some of the highlights included Dr. Lawrence A. Kotlow’s discussion of laser lip and tongue tie release to improve breastfeeding success. We’re looking to replace our electrosurgical equipment with a new laser to offer these procedures free of anesthesia in our office. Another highlight was Dr. Tim Wright’s course on esthetic treatment options for enamel defects. He discussed the Icon resin infiltration system, which we’ve been proud to offer our patients for almost 2 years now as an affordable, non-invasive cosmetic option for congenital enamel defects and early stage cavities such a post-orthodontic white spot lesions.
