Children’s Dental Health Month in Glendale, AZ

Did you know that 1/3 of Arizona children have a cavity by age 3 and that tooth decay is the number 1 most common chronic disease of childhood, 5 times more common than asthma? The good news is that it’s entirely preventable! February is Children’s Dental Health Month.

Sponsored by the Delta Dental Foundation of Arizona, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix will be hosting a series of dental health related events throughout the month of February. To help promote healthy smiles, Dr. Jeanette MacLean, a board certified pediatric dentist, will be at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix on Friday, February 27th from 10 am to Noon. Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists have been caring for Arizona’s children for over 30 years, Dr. MacLean joined the practice in 2005.

She will be participating in the museum’s Healthy Smiles Month series “From First Tooth to Loose Tooth: Your Pediatric Dental Questions Answered.” Parents will have the opportunity to ask their own questions and learn about the best time to take your baby to the dentist, what to do when your child has a loose tooth and protecting your child’s teeth. Children will receive free dental products, make crafts like tooth fairy wands and pillows, learn about brushing and flossing properly, and even meet the Tooth Fairy!
