Jeanette MacLean, DDS
Dr. Jeanette MacLean joined Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists in 2005 and became an owner in 2007. She is a graduate of Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, where she first met Dr. Mandy back in Spanish class! She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University in 1999. She received her dental degree, with honors from the University of Southern California in 2003 and completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 2005 at the Sunrise Children’s Hospital through the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Dr. MacLean is internationally recognized as an expert and advocate for silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and minimally invasive dentistry. She has been appointed to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Speakers Bureau, and has provided lectures across the United States and Canada, as well as webinars viewed in 39 countries. Dr. MacLean is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, one of only two Board Certified pediatric dentists in Glendale, Arizona. Her research has been published in the journal Pediatric Dentistry, the official publication of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been featured in the New York Times, Good Morning Arizona, Phoenix Magazine Top Dentists, written articles for Dentaltown magazine, been featured on KTAR New Talk Radio’s The Agenda, the Howard Speaks dental podcast series, has appeared on AZTV’s Kids Corner and is a spokesperson for the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation. She is also an active member of the Central Arizona Dental Society, the Arizona Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Arizona Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

She is married to Timothy Budd, an attorney, and they have a son, Charlie, and a daughter, Sabrina. She has donated her time to underprivileged children both locally and in Mexico, Belize, and Costa Rica, and has been honored for her volunteer work and humanitarian achievements. She speaks conversational Spanish and her interests include party planning, crafts, Jazzercise and all things Disney. She is also active in Local First Arizona, the Arizona Dental Associations’s AHCCCS Subcommittee and Women in Dentistry group.

Mandy Daitch, DDS
Dr. Mandy Daitch, daughter of our practice founder, Dr. Joel Arthur, is a graduate of Chaparral High School in Scottsdale. In fact, it was back in high school that Dr. Mandy started working for her father in the lab at Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists. She received her dental degree from the University of Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2001 and joined Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists upon graduation, she became an owner in 2005.
Her emphasis on “gentle” dentistry brings an additional touch of compassion, while providing the best possible care. She is an active member of the Central Arizona Dental Society, the Arizona Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
She is married to Dr. James Daitch, a Urologist practicing in Phoenix, and they have a son, Zachary, and a daughter, Samantha. She speaks Spanish and her interests include yoga, jogging and traveling. She is also active in Local First Arizona and West Valley Women.
Joel Arthur, DDS
Dr. Joel Arthur is a native of Philadelphia and received his degree in pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.
He completed his dental degree at Temple University School of Dentistry, and received his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
In 1973 he founded Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists. He is very proud to see his children carry on the practice today.
Dr. Arthur is known nationally for his expertise and care of special needs patients. His interests include golf, yoga, traveling and spending time with his wife Candy. Although Dr. Arthur is semi-retired, you may still see him in the office from time to time, helping out.
Chad Arthur, DDS, MS

Dr. Chad Arthur, brother of Dr. Mandy and son of our practice’s founder, Dr. Joel Arthur, has been setting the highest standards of excellence in orthodontics since 2001! He earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and his dental degree from the University of California Los Angeles in 1997. Dr. Arthur went on to complete a specialized post-graduate residency in pediatric dentistry at New York Presbyterian Hospital in 1999 and a specialized residency in orthodontics from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2001.
He is one of only a few orthodontists in Arizona who is dual trained in Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. An esteemed member of the orthodontic community, Dr. Arthur is an active member of many leading dental and orthodontic organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association and the Arizona Damon Orthodontic Study Club. In his spare time, Dr. Arthur enjoys yoga, swimming, exercising, reading, and spending time with his wife Jill, daughter Zoe and son Hudson.

Roger Livingood, DDS
Dr. Roger Livingood is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist who still enjoys working at Affiliated when help is needed. Both he and his wife, Gloria, worked at our practice for several years. Dr. Livingood attended dental school and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota. He had a career with the Indian Health Service and served as the National Specialty Consultant for Pediatric Dentistry for the US Public Health Service. Dr. Livingood has been adjunct faculty for four dental schools and is currently with the pediatric dental department at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He has three grown children and three grandchildren. Two of the children are now dentists, one an endodontist and one a pediatric dentist.
