The article reviewed Dr. MacLean’s revolutionary approach to managing Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) in a minimally invasive way with the SMART (Silver Modified Atraumatic Restorative Treatment) technique using silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and glass ionomer cement restoratives (GIC).
This approach helps many young children have reduced tooth sensitivity and avoid more invasive surgical treatment that sometimes requires sedation and general anesthesia.
